About Me

I am a graduate of the National College of Art & Design, Thomas St, Dublin, where I gained a Bachelor of Design, Textiles, Embroidery honours degree. It was there that I focused my attention in the fashion area of textiles, through studying the History of Fashion Design I drew inspiration from present fashion trends and bygone eras. Once graduated and enthusiastic about all things related to fashion, I set about to design and make elaborate occasional head pieces, decorative jewellery and accessories using my embroidery skills. Concurrently, I also work with top fashion stylists on fashion editorial shoots and fashion shows in Dublin, so therefore I have a keen eye and understanding for fashion trends.

I am based in Castleknock, Dublin 15, working on an appointment basis I welcome my clients to visit my studio / showroom, so they can see and try on my different styles of work. My work is commission based so therefore, I can design and make an exclusive piece which can be matched to a particular outfit, colour or theme. With this in mind I can co ordinate a whole outfit from headpiece through to jewellery and accessories. I like to keep in contact with my clients during the making of the piece, so the client can see the work in progress if they wish, and will still allow time if any changes needed to be made.

My work has an organic feel, drawing inspiration from nature, such as plants, flowers and butterflies. I combine this with fashion styles of classical Grecian, through to Victorian, right through to modern day.

My work has been featured in a number of leading bridal magazines ('Irish Wedding and New Homes'; winter 05/06 and summer 05 & 'Irish Brides and Homes'), and the Irish Times Magazine Top Ten Tiaras. I was also featured on the Discovery Home and Health Channel "Weddings Live" during the summer '05, where I was commissioned to customise a pair of shoes for the bride. My work was also shown on RTE's "Off the Rails" - Alternative Brides October '05.

Recently I was asked along with Irelands top 30 designers and craft people to design and make work for a unique exibition for the Hunt Museum, in Limerick, titled "The Collectiors Exibition" which took place for the month of November 2005.

I have done commissioned based headpieces and styling for, Budweiser and Kerry Food group. I was short listed for the Muriel Gahan Development Award 2002 at the RDS Crafts Competition, where one of my alternative bridal headpieces was exhibited at the Kerrygold Horseshow RDS and was then part of The National Travelling Exhibition.
